Cool Grey Jordans: New Air Jordan Sneakers Causing Unrest Among Collectors
Pepper spray and Air Jordan sneakers typically aren't paired together. Unless, of course, the shoes in question are the new Cool Grey 11 sneakers.
Indeed, reports from the
Dallas Morning News and from
NBC state that crowds seeking the shoes at the Town East Mall in Mesquite numbered in the hundreds, and that police were forced to use pepper spray on the crowd on more than one occasion.
One of these incidences was necessitated when a child was in danger of being trampled when one of the stores selling the shoes opened for business.
The shoe itself is a recreation of the shoes that Michael Jordan wore in his final NBA game, one that was available for purchase for a mere 24 hours in 2001. As such, they are definitely a huge collector's item.
They sell for $175, but are going for twice that much on Ebay right now.
For sneaker enthusiasts, these new Jordans would appear to be the Holy Grail.
