Times Square New Year’s Eve Countdown and Live Ball Drop Tonight

 New Year’s Eve Countdown in New York Times Square – The Live ball drop is one of the annual event which many people turn to see the ball drop along with the New Year’s 2011 countdown.


The year 2010 is saying goodbye now as we welcome the new year of 2011. The night was filled with excitement , celebrities and entertainers including Ke$ha, American Idiot and the Backstreet Boys.

There will be 196 countries tune into this annual ball drop in the New York Times Square and at exactly 11:59 p.m. the ball will slowly drop from 70 feet in 60 seconds for the New Year 2011.

This year, the legendary ball weighs 11,875-pound, and has a 12 feet in diameter, which also filled with 2,688 Waterford crystal triangles and will shine with the help of 32,256 Philips Luxeon Rebel LEDs. The crystal ball this year is now the largest in the world and this is according to Times Square Alliance.
